wow! Yuma to Gila Bend, 120 miles in a massive 14 hours including breaks - before you start Nick it was up to 50C! As Adam didn't want to let me down, he picked up a puncture a mile and a half behind me (2 in the space of 4 days). This was a long straight ride down the interstate which again proved to be long, slow, hot, monotonous and have i mentioned hot! On arriving we simply crashed and burned. Day 4 was the leg from Gila Bend to Pheonix. This started well with us making good time and avoiding traffic on the freeway before Adam yet again picked up 2 punctures......i know he's going strong! Despite this we completed this 75 mile trip in 9 hours. The highlights here were that we were paid a visit by the police as someone had reported 2 cyclists cruising down the freeway and were worried for our safety....they were right it was seriously scary, as we sat only a couple of inches away from humungous lorries. After all that we set off from Pheonix at 4am this morning and have just reached Miami (No not in Florida), it's a little copper mining town in amongst the mountains (3,500 ft). This leg started smoothly but suddenly took a down turn as we hit inclines running for nearly 7 miles. On reaching what we thought was the top we were pleasantly greeted by signs stating that there was now a decline of 7% for approx 12 miles......they lied it continued to climb and climb. So having bored you senseless i'm signing out. Hang tough, no tears!

After setting off from San Diego at 5am we climbed up to around 4000ft in about 6hrs and over 70 miles using the Old Highway 80 route. Then tired of winding around Hwy 80 we jumped on the Interstate freeway 8 (this is illegal but so far the police we've seen have just ignored us). Once on the freeway we were soon on the down hill reaching speeds of 50mph and it was only another 3 hours before we reached El Centro. Today we had a short leg of 60 miles to Yuma, Arizona. We did try to stay of the Freeway but gave up in the end as the alternative roads were to bad to make good speed without falling off or ruining tyres. We made it into Yuma before 12 where a very nice lady paid for our meal in House of Pan Cakes which was a big bonus for our budget. I'm now off to try and treat my various ailments allready cropping up. More updates and videos to follow. Laters.....

Currently we are staying with some friends of friends (cheers Skud) in San Diego. Getting here was not without inccident, even getting to Heathrow was as issue. Firstly Adam left his phone behind and Ben's exhaust fell off. On arriving at L.A airpoirt Adam didn't let me down and took the first puncture of the trip for the team. Fortunately Officer Sur from the LAX Police sorted us out with a decent pump and some basics on how to get to Venice Beach (Adam Knights Hangout). We eventually arrived at Ad's for around 9pm. After a well deserved nights sleep we left his at around 10am and headed towards San Diego. 12Hrs and 140 miles later we arrive in pieces. Fortunately the guys we are staying with (Don and Carol Wood) pumped us full of coffee and biscuits. So as we write this we are taking the day off before packing our pepper spray and vasoline and heading to El Centro where we hope to update you again........Stay Classy San Diego!

Luke had his bike nicked! He locked it up last Saturday on Worcester Uni campus and some scoundrel pinched it. We can only hope the culprit/s suffer a slow and painful death... just kidding (but seriously!). REMINDER: Party tomorrow night! 20:30 onwards in the Victory, St Owens Street, Hereford! Also circuits at Sixth Sense Gym 18:00 - 19:00.
